Is a home business for you?
Time:
People will tell you you only need a few hours a week to run a business from home. Which is true if you don't want to make a whole lot right off the bat or if you have money to put into advertising.
If you can put $500 or more a month in advertising then spending a few hours a week is very do-able. You can use the money to put an ad in a magazine and people will just sign up at your website. All you will have to do is talk to a few leads that you will get and it is very manageable.
Another great way that doesn't take a lot of time if face to face or bellie to bellie...this is where you actually go out and talk to people. Or invite them into your home and have a group that you talk to. You can do this for a few hours a week and the results are huge!!
If you are doing free online advertising then you will need to spend hours every day placing ads everywhere...basically just flooding the internet with you ads. There are 1000's of places you can post free ads. But it takes a lot of time and some websites you have to do it every day anywhere from every half hour to every few hours. It does work, but it takes a lot of time.
Customer Service:
Are you comfortable talking to people? Now with my team if someone isn't comfortable talking to people on the phone, then I will call for them...so that depends on support as well. So you can do it even if you aren't comfortable talking to people. http://www.gbg4results.com
Computer Skills:
Now this isn't a must, but it is helpful. Again if you have the right support then you can learn how to place ads online. I offer my team flyers that they can print and instructions on how to place ads online, so someone just getting started can do it. http://www.gbg4results.com
Organized:
Again this isn't a must, but is helpful in helping you build your team and keeping them organized.
Work well on your own:
With your home business you need to understand that this is your home business, it isn't anyone elses...you have to be able to make yourself work. Set a schedule and work when you are suppose to be working. Make sure that you kids and friends understand that you have office hours when you need to work. I have a laptop and while I'm helping my kids with homework I'm working and doing what I need to do during part of my office hours. I save that time for computer work only, no phone calls and no chatting during that time.
Self Motivated:
You have to be self motivated. I do help my team with motivation and usually our company offers trainings that always get me motivated. So that is a big help for those discouraging times. http://www.gbg4results.com
Leadership:
Leadership skills are helpful when you have a team and you need to be able to train them and offer them help. If you have great support then this makes it a lot easier to do because you aren't alone in this process. I give all my leaders special trainings and help them with anything they need help with. http://www.gbg4results.com
Other things you need to realize about a home business are that again this is your business. You can work it when and how you want...but it depends on how successful you want to be. If you know that you would never on your own be able to spend the time and you don't have a good support system then a home business might not be for you. But if you can stay focused and come up with a plan for yourself...then you can do it!!
Keeping kids quiet in church
I've been asked so many times what I do to keep my 5 boys quiet in church. Well as a new mom with my first child, I struggled and I had a great friend tell me what she had done and I tried the same thing and it works.
What she told me was that you can't expect small children to sit quietly at church for an hour if you don't practice. So I started with 10 minutes where my boys had to sit every day. They could quietly look at a book or color, but they had to sit quietly.
Then gradually we would increase the time. After 5 days we upped it to 15 minutes and 5 days later we upped it to 20. We continued until we were up to 1 hour 30 minutes and we do that every day. It works. Don't be afraid to sit by your child and tell them this is our quiet time. We need to sit quietly just for a little while.
Don't be afraid of this process. It really does work if you follow thru!!
Don't let you kids run around if you have to take them out. They need to understand if they go out it isn't a good thing. I basically put my kids in time out if I have to take them out of the chapel. But if they go into the chapel and can play quietly, color or look at a book...they have more freedom. No snacks go outside the chapel. If they want snacks again they need to sit quietly and color or whatever to have the snacks or their sippy cup.
The good thing about this is that as they grow they learn they need to be quiet and they keep being quiet, then as you ad more children they watch the older ones and it makes it easier to keep them quiet and reverent during church!!
Hope this helps you with your kids during church!!
